O.K., I'm old, so getting around sites is confusing to me, so I'm posting this Question Here...Who has Ideas to help grow devoted? What do you want out of this site? Should there be music? Color and sparkly things? You people who started this site, What was your intention and vision of the future for Devoted? Christian Chat? Christian meeting place? All of the above? Are we trying to be like another Christian myspace? or a devotional area?.....I find it difficult to find the proper area to leave a comment or piece of advice or ask for advise, but that's just me...Keep in mind, I'm probably the same age as your grandparents.... and computers are not "old folks friendly"... Any way, A t.v. preacher said one day, "define your vision" ...Love to you all, Lee n Kim ... o.k., I'll ramble a little more....How about a background song that admin. could change as they saw fit ...or different music as a background for the different forums? Mercy Me , when you go into partyyyroom...something sacred when you go into devotional...you catch my drift....different art work for different areas? of course, all this is easy for me to say an not so easy to write the code to do it....I don't even know how to cut and paste, except with them little scissors and white paste from 2nd grade.... O. K., DEFINE YOUR VISION >>> WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO HERE? ... Jesus IS LORD...let the Holy Spirit flow :hug:

Im not a leader of devoted but here are my thoughts:
I see Devoted as a place for serious christians to get together alnd grow in the Lord together, pray for eachother, suppot and encourage eachother on our way toward God.
I do think that we need more active members. I myself would LOVE to be more active on here.
I cant say the glitter or whatever will really help the site. what we need is more people. more teens more adults more grandparents.....

I think Jayne's right about more people. i think the idea about background music is an interesting idea, but i think it might be hard to get people to agree about what music should be there, i mean some people like Jayne like Christian rock. whereas my parents won't let me listen to any rock, Christian or otherwise. i feel kinda like the site is missing something, i'm just not sure what it is......

links from other spaces? :blink: couldn't individuals in other Christian spaces put links to devoted (without devoted having to pay 'BY the Click"?

Jayne's thoughts are mine. My sister and I originally were going to start a club on a non-Christian site to strengthen the Christians there, and maybe even reach out to the non-Christians.

As for more active members, I would be extremely happy if all members got on at least 5 days a week and made one post. That would make me happy.

As for new members, I'd definitely like some new, ACTIVE ones. I've been on the promotional pages a lot lately.

What would really help is if you all would put signature pictures in your signatures on other forums (i.e. KutlessRocks, HearItFirst, etc.) and use the avatars.

I have a good idea, and I want to see what Amanda's thoughts are on it.

But if you all would be praying for everyone to become active, I'd like it.

I did try a tactic that worked with Christa. ;) When I wanted to get to 1,000 posts, I sent out an e mail, and she came and helped do that, and ever since, she's been around quite a bit. :P So, I thought, maybe there's another Christa-like person out there. :P

But as for new members, I think we should do what Amy Carmichael did - pray. Instead of reverting to fundraising outside of the church (for her mission work), she prayed like George Muller. And the more I think about it, if all of us active people would pray, I think we could accomplish much.

And to add to what I said... I originally did not see my mom joining, but I wanted members those first few days, so I basically forced her to join. :P But I would love to see more kids Joel's age (as I think we have a good teen range right now), I would absolutely love to see parents (as in Jess's mom and my mom), and I would love to see more people in Lee's age. I think it would be fun (if we had enough) to start a 'mentorship' sorta thingy... still kinda thinking about that. But I think it would be awesome to see people Mr. Lee's age and my mom's age helping us grow in our walks. Now, not that teens leading other teens is bad, they're just older and know more. :)

What do you think of that?

Good clarification...thanks...I had just wandered into one of the posts about outside sites "rating" devoted, so I thought I'd ask some questions and blert out some thoughts....You are right on about prayer!!!!!God Bless an have a real good day, leenkim p.s. sometimes you younger folks can mentor to us older ones (at least in my case)... :rolleyes: ( I like this little one, looks like he's lookin up to God.)

^Yes, that is what we need to do. We need to be praying for new members, reading our Bibles to see what God has to say, and going out there and going, "HEY, YOU, GO JOIN DP RIGHT NOW!" :P
